The Food Pyramid of old is being replaced with the MyPlate movement, but if you want some great food images to play with this is the feltboard set to order! Just leave out the Pyramid! It arrives as one large piece of felt, so you must cut out the foods yourself. I cut a circle out of the leftover Pyramid piece and used the blank side as a "dinner plate" on the felt board. Children came to the board and helped place proper food groups in the proper proportions on the plate!

This was NOT what we thought it was and NOT the new design of the pyramid. Also, we have to cut out all the pieces? WOW. Will be returning this and trying to find the new pyramid.

There are many servings in a food group, so having a felt number to help the user understand how many servings had for that day is a real asset. I looked for real food to put from a full basket into an empty one as we "consumed" them to understand that we've satisfied our servings, but it's hard to comprehend what a serving is too if examples aren't given. All in all it's good. I'm still looking for something better. I had to glue a magnet to the back to put it up on our frige. Get creative man, right? LOL! :)
Great product, but with one drawback

I love this product, except when I ordered it before, all the individual food pieces were pre-cut. This time I had to cut out all the different foods. Too time consuming for a teacher with very little extra time!
