Bought this for my 22 month old granddaughter when she comes to Nonnie and Poppop's house. She has similar instruments at pre-school. This is a bit difficult for her to use as it must be shaken fairly hard to get it to work. Otherwise it is well made and an older child would definitely benefit.

Handle Castanet Review
So these are nice painted wooden castanets. They seem easy to wash and make a decent sound. I had to retie a few of them (the elastic cording I mean) because they were tied too tight or too loose when I received them. But it was an easy fix. I was somewhat disappointed that when I received them they were completely red instead of red, green and blue as seen in the picture...
