Liquid water colors
I'm surprised by the other review commenting on how watery the paint is. We use it in homeschool and love it. It's WATER colors so I didn't expect anything thicker. We like it. I guess I would have to use the other product the other reviewer is talking about because I have nothing to compare except with dry water colors that you add your own water. The colors are so vibrant. When we want something to shimmer we add the silver or gold to the regular color, it's great.
Silver great for painting on wooden trains! but very watery
On the plus side, the colors are really pretty. The silver is especially nice for the wooden trains I purchased as part of a large birthday gift arts & crafts package for a 4-year-old. His mom tells me every morning the first thing he says is "paint, momma, paint!" because he loves to paint so much. Which makes the quality of this product line so much more disappointing, I really wanted to love them. But they just don't work as I'd hoped. I wish the product were easier to work with. Maybe for older children. I purchased 5 colors for a 4-year-old, and he has a hard time with how runny they are. This is with painting on paper. I also purchased wooden trains and flowers, I'm hoping these paints will work better painting on wood because it's more porous. He did Xmas trees at the holidays and had no problems, but he didn't use Colorations, he used a different - and I think, better - brand. I'm not impressed with Colorations and I won't be repurchasing. You get a lot of product for a really good price, but I don't think it's worth it overall, if the kids can't work with it easily. Plus, the seals are defective. In shipping, 2 of the 5 bottles had defective seals, and leaked all over the package. In the replacement package, 1 of the 2 bottles also had a defective seal, and leaked even worse. I've tried to review this once already and DSS won't post my review. We'll see if they let this one post. It's an honest review of the product.
