Great for bugs, plants and amphibians!
We used these to collect things while on a nature hike, then when we got back to the nature center, we looked at what was found. We collected American Toads, tree frogs, many insects, moss, fungi, flowers and even a spider! We had only one instance where someone dropped one and the bugs escaped an...d had to be caught again, but the lid was not secure. The kids could look at the creatures and plants through the magnifier and from all angles. Just make sure the lids are on tight or you have escapees which can be interesting!

They don't make them like they used to.
I have purchased these boxes several times before for nature education programs, and have always been happy with them. However, sometime in the last year or two the style changed slightly and the quality dropped. They are cheaper brittle plastic than they used to be, so not as durable. Plus the t...op bug door does not stay secured very well. They will last if you are careful with them, but disappointing compared to what they once were.

I have a grandson who absolutely loves bugs, etc. I let him know I had found some bug boxes and he let me know right away that he needed some of these. I don't believe there is a bug he wouldn't pick up. He will love these for his upcoming birthday. Great product!!
