I have him sort & count by color and then by type. He also just plays with them, adding his own sound effects depending on the vehicle, floats the boats in a bowl of water. He's 3 1/2 yrs old & is really enjoying them. No complaints other than the helicopter keeps falling over but it's not a problem.

Got these for my 2 year old to help him with his fine motor skills, colors, and sorting -- as well as the fact that he really likes cars/airplanes/boats/things that go right now! Transportation Counters
They are durable. Multiple colors and shapes are excellent for using for patterns and sorting. The size is great because they are large enough for preschool/kindergarteners but yet small enough to store easily.
Great for counting and sorting
My 2 year old loves putting these little rubber vehicles into piles and he even drives them around.
