Group Fun with Pattern Blocks
We use a spinner with the shapes in a group game. The children try to make a pattern block picture. Once all of one shape is used, if someone spins that shape again then the shape has to be taken away. This makes completing the picture quite challenging.

Foam shapes not cut evenly
The foam shapes are good for imaginative play but the pattern cards that you can buy to go with them are designed for much older children.

This product is terrific. Pattern block pieces are so small and for group work tough to work with. These pieces are large enough to allow all students to manipulate pieces and visualize patterns in a whole group setting.

These are great my grandchildren 2 1/2 and 4 loved them and I took them to a pre-school enrichment class I do and they did too. They do collect any dust etc on floor so use clean area.
Great value for the money!

The children gain social skills as they gather the proper amount of shapes to build their chosen shape. I purchased the cards too and put these in my block area. The only thing I would change would be to make them out of a hard plastic instead of foam because I have toddlers who still put everything in their mouth in my family childcare home.

We purchased these for our younger children in the daycare but the school-agers got a hold of them and they have been entertained for days. At first they followed smaller pattern cards but now they are creating their own and asking for pictures to be taken of their creations.
