Good concept, some issues with the use

This product is great in theory. The ball drop seems like a fun activity for infants and toddlers. The drawback is that the wooden slide is too complicated for them to operate independently. Once it's out, they can't get it back in. Additionally, the product is not long enough. The ball doesn't have anywhere to roll. We found that the casing also cracked pretty quickly, within a month of use. Also, the EarlyStem kit should have a replacement parts option. The coins and balls seem to be lost easily, and as the kit is so expensive, the items are almost useless if you lose the coins/balls.

I've looked all over/considered different available ball drops and this one was the best price and had a larger ball. Not crazy about the brown color of the ball, but that can be changed. It works with our larger 2.5" balls and the coins that came with the Environment's earlySTEM Jr. coin drop. I removed the slide for my 1 year old and she enjoys it without, but that said, she has been able to open it on her own, just often will pull it out and can't put it back. Very nicely made.
Great object permanence box!

Great object permanence box! I especially love the added challenge of the sliding, removable trap door. Right now, we're using the box without the door, and when we're ready for more of a challenge, we'll add it on. #sweepstakes
