this item is just one piece of a much larger order which is still not complete!!! the quality of products delivered thus far is less then expected. the remaining portion of this order is weeks late. in fact, if i do not receive by end of day tomorrow, i will deny the charges of the entire order and we can hash it out with my cc provider. as the owner of multiple locations of preschool facilities, discount school supply can rest assured. we will talk with our friends in the industry. the word I would use to describe this experience: DISGUSTING p.s., i do not expect this review to be posted !! These are the best people toys. They're more realistic than most little plastic ones, but the very "realistic" plastic ones don't stand up and are no fun to play with! These people are made of wood (way better than plastic), have just enough detail to be interesting but are simple enough to make kids use imagination. They've got all different skin colors, which is nice, and different ages and sizes. (The slitty eyes on the "Asian" people are a little offensive, but a sharpie can take care of that.) I've bought these for more than one classroom - they're the best for young children.

I was given two sets of these several years ago- one for my own children and one for my preschool class. They have been played with a lot, and roughly, and have stood the test of time. I also love that they are beautifully painted, but not extremely detailed so as to leave something to the imagination. My daughter used them as part of her wooden block set (although they did travel a bit). When she was two she would line them up by size or place them on her block creations, and as she grew so did the stories that went with them. These have great play value as a manipulative, imaginative, and multicultural toy.
Meets ECERS/FCCERS
We bought these along with the careers set and the kids like them a lot. They use them for dramatic play but some kids also like to sort them by size (no one yet has sorted them by skin tone--they really don't notice that as a factor, although they do occasionally group by hair color). They stand up well, so even our two-year-olds like to use them.
