Our old sand shovels were cracking or breaking, so I purchased these, admittedly a little leary that some children might use the long handles to sword fight (which some initially did!). After establishing that these shovels are ONLY for digging, the kids have been having a blast in the sand... the long-handled shovels are their first request when we pull out the sand toys!

These shovels have nice long handles and are made of very durable plastic. I have to admit, I was more than just pleasantly surprised...I took them around to show them off. Nicest shovels we've ever purchased. Yea!
