I purchased this helmet as a gift to my 4 year old nephew. He opened it and immediately screamed "A HELMET!" and put it on. He wouldn't take it off all day! The straps seem a bit weird where they're connected to the helmet, but they seem safe and fine once he is wearing it. The buckle snaps easily and has adjustable straps. The helmet comes with an instruction booklet and extra pads to ensure the helmet can customize to anyone. There is enough room to grow a few years...I would say his head size is average for his age? Great price, great looking helmet! (shiny red, true to picture)

I have given this to my 3 year old daughter, she loves it. She is able to put it on herself and enjoys using it while riding in our kitchen and while riding outside.It is a little big on her and slides around a little but she will be able to grow into it.
