We use this in our infant room. We had one for four years. Parents walked on it in high heel work shoes and it has stood up. After 4 years we've gotten some fraying & cracking along the edges. The padding is firm & about 1 inch thick.

I bought this mat for my shared private practice office: a small. adult-like space that needed to become more child-friendly for the preschoolers that I treat. It did the trick and appears to be holding up well.

A friend and I went together and bought 2 of these mats. My daughter loves being able to practice her tumbling outside of class. I love the fact that I know she is safe to practice. They are thick enough to practice on. It is a brightly colored mat.
