As the owner/teacher of an early childhood program, I am always looking for new building materials to challenge my class of 4/5 year old students. This was a major purchase, as I ordered three sets in order to have enough for the entire class to work on large projects together. The Ice Blocks are a great size and weight. They stack and remain stacked together because of the subtle ridges on them. They are safe when a really tall structure is knocked over and they are sturdy enough for the children to stand on. We are located in a cold climate and it is so nice to have a "wintery" complement to our other blocks and building materials!

These are much smaller than I thought they would be for the price. The picture with the child, in the catalog, makes them look larger. My fault, I should have looked at the dimensions. For just 20 blocks, there isn't anything over the top to do with them, you would need multiple sets and with a price over $100, that just isn't doable for our small organization. They are nice quality, just small.

We purchased two sets of Excellerations Ice Blocks. For the month of December, our preschool classroom will be transformed into an arctic snow world, complete with an inflatable igloo, penguins, faux snow, etc. These ice blocks will be a perfect addition to our "chill" winter classroom environment. The Ice Blocks are well made, tough enough to withstand an adult standing on them and easy to clean, which is required during COVID-19 sanitizing and disinfecting procedures (or a typical daily cleaning routine in an early childhood edu classroom). #sweepstakes
