Unique use satisfying despite challenges
Actually, I shopped as a person who wanted to save a picture I'd bought. I happen to be a sort of administrator, as the executive director of a small nonprofit for vocational rehabilitation. I am a certified rehabilitation counselor. In a sense I also care for a small child, as my husband is 94 a...nd much reduced in his present capabilities. Primarily, my mission is to help restore the broken pieces for individual human beings with disabilities. Although the cover I bought was intended for books, I used it to stabilize glass in a picture frame that had broken into an artistic pattern over an enlarged photographic print. Getting the pieces into place was a project in itself. I used a small piece of the cover to put right down onto the part that had the trickiest piecing. With cardboard pieces cut to size, I turned the glass out of the frame and covered it entirely with another piece of the clear contact material, then turned it back, carefully removed the original patch, and covered that whole side with a new piece. It wasn't easy to make it flat. There are a few small air bubbles and creases. But it's fairly good. In order to apply, I folded back one edge of facing about an inch, set the exposed cover material carefully at the top of the glass, then gently, steadily pulled the facing material out from under the cover material, allowing it to settle onto the glass. I was very pleased to find this way of stabilizing a collection of pieces.

We use the repositionable contact paper to cover the dust jackets of our children's books. It is easy to cut--the backing paper has guidelines--and easy to apply, and does a library quality job of preserving covers of books which get read over and over. My sister has been using this product for years and her book jackets show no noticable aging.

I use this on everything; lesson plans, file folder games, puzzles, bulletin boards - anything that I want to use more than once. I have even used it on favorite books. We also use it on art projects; place mats, hanging pictures - holds leaves and crayon scrapings well. Kids love to use glitter and sequins and make ornaments. I love it that you can pull it apart if you make a mistake - I am such a klutz.
