great way to contain small parts

These trays are a good size for playing with playdough, painting, building with legos, and small craft projects. Glue, feathers, glitter, beads, etc. are easily contained.

We have used these mostly for painting with brushes. They are big enough to hold a letter size sheet of paper with a little bit of room on the side for paint cups and brushes so everything is contained. And they are very easy to clean or wipe down! My son is just over two years old and I've also noticed that the tray doesn't slide around while he's painting, and the paper mostly stays put as well because of the tray's texture, which makes the experience so much better (less frustrating) and minimizes mess. The only negative was that the plastic smell was overwhelming when I first opened the package. I set the trays out individually for a couple days to air out before using them, and the smell no longer bothered me. Just wanted folks to be aware of this if you are sensitive to this kind of smell.

The trays are nice - sturdy, smooth, easy to clean and colorful. They're light and sized for small children to carry art supplies around, and the lip is high enough to contain spills. The ONLY drawback is the length - too small for a 12"x18" paper.

I use these trays with my home daycare program for children 1yrs+. I use them to give everyone their personal space. Everyone's items stay on their trays separate from the others. I use them for arts & crafts, meals & snacks, math & manipulatives, worksheets, and writing practice. I LOVE the larger size because it provides more space and they're also easy to clean. I just wished they came in a quanity of 6 instead of 5. :)
