I ordered these for one of our crafts at a girl scout day camp. The girls loved being able to decorate their own kites and it was easy enough for them all to put together the last piece. We also added 'bows' to the tail by tying on pieces of tulle. Out of the 180+ kites that we used, only 2-3 broke....

This was a fun project, but the kites did not fly. String was too thin and were very frustrating. We spent a very long time trying to make them work. I would not buy this product again.

The kids loved the kites. Our fabric markers worked great on them. There were a couple that didn't work. More than likely, you will need to add something to the tail to weight it down.

We also added 'bows' to the tail by tying on pieces of tulle. Out of the 180+ kites that we used, only 2-3 broke. And by broke, I mean that one of the seems that held the bar in place came unsewn. It was so cute seeing the girls run around and fly their kites at camp... that actually worked! The girls ages ranged from 4-16 (this included tagalong kids and the older helpers).

They were easy to assemble and color, but best of all, they actually flew! The colors looked great, the girls loved them and flew them much longer than I expected. I was thrilled.

These kites were great! I purchased them for my son's birthday party and all of the kids had a great time decorating them. They seem much sturdier than the plastic big box store kites. The material is more like parachute material. I also bought permanent markers here and they worked well for decorating the kites. The kids had a blast coloring on them and then running around flying them.
