Kids loved this, so did the parents, all wanted to know where to buy these. They make a black chalky mess, but that's expected. We just used chopsticks as our scratching tool given various widths, could use anything, easy to scratch off the black covering. They turn out beautiful no matter what age attempts it.

The kids loved the magic of seeing the black paper change beautiful colors but the paper was so smelly, like the smell of cemicals that I had to put them out side to air out!

These are a fantastic rainy day boredom buster. Some did come scratched and the black stuff does get everywhere, but the vibrant color more than makes up for it. Ours had a faint smell but not overwhelming. We really enjoyed these!

On a miserable day, however, these are the Vitamin C of the art world. The kids literally scratch away the blackness of the day and discover a wonderful swirl of colors. I particularly prefer these to the square cards because my young children do not need to "draw" a picture to have a "finished" piece when they are done. The pre-cut shape provides the design and they just decorate with their scratching. The paper is thick and stocky which is great for hanging on the wall when they are done.
