Fun Craft!
The kids (ages 5-10) had fun making the rain sticks and were easy enough for the young ones to do alone, but the dull sound is disappointing if you've ever heard a real rain stick.

They were fine for our purposes, but pretty basic. I wish the tubes had been a color (like blue or grey for water or white for clouds) instead of looking like empty paper towel tubes. The kids liked them, but they were a little overpriced (especially when you add on shipping and handling) for the finished product.

I used this craft with my summer reading program in the library today. I am very pleased with the entire kit. The materials were sturdy and plentiful. One tip for future users, we used super glue to coat the rim of each end of the tube before putting on the foam and rubber band. My participants were younger and I was afraid they might peel off the caps and eat or spill the beads. Also, since my participants were pre-school aged, I placed the white cardboard insert in before they began to decorate the outside. It was a little bit difficult and would have been frustrating for parents and toddlers.
