not bad, but not so very many beads
Bought these for a camp. Good quality painted wood beads, but should have focused more on other reviewers saying "one pound is not a lot of beads." Might be better to label this as a Nnumber of beads - definitely not as many as 500, which I was expecting.

These beads were okay.....the only problem is that some of the holes were closed on one end. Also, some of the larger beads were really hard to string, even with lacing strings. The colors were great and we really like the smaller beads.

On a lot of the beads, there was dried paint covering the holes which made it hard for my preschoolers and kindergartners to thread a string through. The beads without dried paint were great! Other than the dried paint flaws I think they are great and would serve as a great manipulative for art and fine motor skills.

A lot of the beads were clogged, either with tiny beads, or they just weren't drilled through all the way. Lots of the big ones are really hard to string too, since the holes were not cleanly drilled, and the string gets stuck.

I bought these beads for a craft project at my son's school. While they look fantastic, the overall quality is poor. For [$] (with the shipping charges), I should've just gone to the local craft store. The children are 4-6 years old, and had a hard time (even the teachers) stringing the beads on yarn and twine. Many of the beads have rough patches inside the holes so the thread snags inside or are closed off altoghether so you can't get anything through, which led to some children being frustrated and a couple even in tears! I would only buy these if you will be using fishing line or pipe cleaners to string the beads; even then expect some of the holes to be closed off.
