Very surprised with the variety you receive (from the size of a fingernail to the size of a half dollar piece). Not many pieces were broken so thats a definite plus. Also, can't beat the price for the amount you get. Most craft stores sell 10 to 20 shells for $4.99 so this is absolutely a great deal...

I was pretty disappointed to find that many of the shells were broken. They were shipped to me in a padded envelope. Perhaps if I had a bigger order and received them in a box more would have survived the shipping process. The price was decent, but for the amount that were still intact, I would have been better off paying a few extra dollars to get them from my local craft store.

I bought these for a mermaid-themed project with 12 kindergartners, and they were just great. Not too fragile, lots of variety in shape and size, and plenty of shells for this project.

We ordered 2 lbs. of the small size shells. I was expecting there would be many tiny, common, uninteresting shells. But this mixture was better than expected. The shells range in size from tiny to some that are 1-1.5 inches long. The shapes are a good variety too, not just a lot of small clam or cockleshells. All are clean and only a few broke during shipping. We are very happy with these shells for our craft programs. These 2 lbs. of shells fit well in a container orig. used for 1.5 lbs. of snack mix.

The shells were lovely, but many of them were slightly too big for the project I wanted to do. I was gluing them onto treasure boxes and small blocks of wood. I personally would have liked them all to be very small shells. So in actuality there is nothing wrong with them, just not all quite the size I wanted.
