I am a retired preschool teacher. I went on-line to a few of my favorite school supply sites to hunt another item. Not all number keys work therefore addition and subtraction functions are not accurate. This is ok for youngest but not the older children.

I continue to buy this cash register although it often jams up with money if the size is not a good fit or children do not place the money in carefully (which they are never going to do with consistency.) I find it's the best one out there -- just wish I didn't have to replace so often due to jamming.

My grandson loves his new cash register! I would definitely purchase this item again, but there are two things that cause me to rate it down by one star: First, the display is very dim and hard to read unless you are at exactly the right angle. Second, in my instance, the box it arrived in was seriously damaged. I don't mean the shipping box; I mean the toy's package. It should NEVER have been sent (particularly at Christmas) as the box was badly dented and torn. It wasn't a great gift giving experience to provide something that looked so trashy. Good thing he liked it. I would have returned the item if it hadn't been so close to Christmas. I'm really surprised that it was selected and sent in the box it was in

Mt granddaughter loves this cash register!!! She is only 2 1/2 and loves to push the numbers and open the cash drawer. As she matures she will be able to use her skills more realistically. My daughters had the same one when they were young and used it for many hours of imaginative play over the years. . The spring on the cash drawer is so strong it opens so quick and forceful some of the change falls out. Otherwise a 5* product.
