Solid little trike, go smaller if your little isn't 3.5 yet
I wish I had ordered the smaller size. At age 3 my little guy was 2'11," and when we got this one he barely could reach the peddals and handle bar. It's hard to know because each child develops in their own way. At age 3 years 7 mo. he can finally reach pedals and handle bars by himself, and has enough strength in his legs to turn the wheels. It's a sturdy bike, I can hop on the back bar with no problem and I also sit in the seat and move it with my legs (I'm 5'6" 175+ lbs). I also have a lakeshore trike and the seat on this is comfier.
